Social Studies
Our study of the 'Southern Colonies' continues this week. We will continue to discuss the Virginia Colony and begin our journey south into the Carolina's.
Word Study
We will continue with sort 14 this week. Our focus is to study how base words and/or root words change when different prefixes are added. Our goal is to learn how to break down meaningful parts of unknown words. Learning how to "dissect" words rather than just decoding words improves comprehension of multisyllabic words.
